Private by design
Gentle Tally is local-first. Each caregiver holds a signed copy, and nearby devices exchange only the entries they are missing.
Three devices, one history.Start Nearby Sync while caregivers are together to exchange the entries each device is missing.
The practical questions
No. Your household is created on-device. There is no sign-up, family profile, or central account database.
Each approved device keeps its own signed ledger. During a Nearby Sync session, devices exchange missing entries, so updates can travel from one caregiver to the next without a central server.
Yes. Awarding points and viewing history are local-first. To exchange new entries, open Household and start Nearby Sync while another caregiver is nearby.
No. The ledger is append-only. A correction becomes a new entry, preserving the household’s audit trail.
Gentle Tally uses Kronos-adjusted time and deterministic ordering so devices can agree on the sequence of events.
A gentler way to grow
Gentle Tally is coming to iPhone and iPad. Thoughtful recognition, shared privately.
